Returns and Refunds Policy

This policy forms part of our Terms and Conditions of Sale. Nothing in it affects your statutory rights under Irish and EU consumer law.

1. Your Right to Withdraw

If you are a Consumer, you have the right to withdraw from your contract within 14 days without giving any reason, in accordance with the Consumer Rights Act 2022.

The 14 day period begins on the day you, or a person you nominate other than the carrier, take physical possession of the products. Where your order arrives in several parts, it begins on the day you receive the last part.

2. How to Return a Product

Tell us of your decision to withdraw before the 14 day period ends, by email to info@theleancompany.ie or by post to the address below. You may use the model withdrawal form on our Right of Withdrawal page, linked in our website footer, but you are not obliged to. Please include your order number.

We will acknowledge your notice by email without delay.

3. Return Costs

You bear the direct cost of returning products, unless the product is faulty, damaged on arrival or not as described. We recommend a tracked service and that you keep proof of postage. Products remain your responsibility until they reach us.

4. Condition of Returned Products

You may handle products as you would in a shop to examine their nature, characteristics and functioning.

Please return products complete with all components, accessories and documentation, and in their original packaging where possible.

If a product has been used, assembled or handled beyond what is necessary to examine it, or is returned damaged or incomplete, we may reduce your refund to reflect the loss in value. We will explain any reduction to you.

5. Refunds

We will refund all payments received from you, including standard delivery charges, within 14 days of the day you notify us of your withdrawal.

Where you chose a delivery option more expensive than our least expensive standard delivery, we will not refund the additional cost.

We may withhold your refund until we have received the products back or you have provided proof of return, whichever is earlier.

Refunds are made to your original payment method and in the currency you paid in, unless you expressly agree otherwise. You will not incur any fees as a result of the refund.

6. Made to Order and Bespoke Products

The right of withdrawal does not apply to products made to your specification or clearly personalised. This includes products:

cut, fabricated, welded or assembled to your dimensions, drawings or design
printed, engraved or labelled with your text, logos, layouts or branding
configured to sizes, colours, materials or components that are not standard catalogue options

This exemption applies because of the nature of the product. We aim to identify these products on the product page and in your order confirmation.

This does not affect your rights if a made to order product is faulty or does not match the specification you approved.

7. Faulty, Damaged or Incorrect Products

If a product is faulty, damaged on arrival or not as described, you are entitled to a repair, replacement, price reduction or refund in accordance with your statutory rights. We will cover the cost of return.

Please contact us as soon as possible, ideally within 48 hours of delivery for damage in transit, with your order number and photographs of the damage or fault. This helps us resolve the issue quickly and claim from the courier. It does not limit your statutory rights.

8. Business Customers

The statutory right of withdrawal does not apply to Business Customers.

Standard products: returns of non faulty standard products are accepted only with our prior written agreement, requested within 14 days of delivery. Products must be unused, in resaleable condition and in their original packaging. Return carriage is at your cost, and a restocking charge may apply, confirmed when we agree the return.

Made to order and bespoke products: cannot be returned unless faulty.

Faulty products: must be reported within the timescales set out in Section 11 of our Terms and Conditions of Sale.
