Returns and Refunds Policy

1. Your Right to Return

We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. In accordance with the European Union Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU) and the Consumer Rights Act 2022 (Ireland), you have the right to return most items purchased from The Lean Company within 14 days of receiving your order, without giving any reason.

The 14-day return period begins on the day you, or a third party nominated by you, takes physical possession of the goods.

2. How to Initiate a Return

To exercise your right to return, you must notify us clearly before the 14-day period expires. Contact us by:

Post: Please contact us by email first to receive the current return address before shipping any goods.

Once we confirm receipt of your return request, we will provide the current return address. You must return the goods without undue delay and no later than 14 days from the date you notified us.

3. Return Shipping Costs

The cost of returning goods is borne by the customer, except where the item received is faulty, damaged or not as described. We strongly recommend using a tracked shipping service, as we cannot accept liability for items lost or damaged in transit during return.

4. Condition of Returned Goods

Returned items must be:

  • Unused and in their original condition.
  • In their original, undamaged packaging.
  • Complete with all components, accessories and documentation supplied.

We reserve the right to reduce the refund amount to reflect any diminished value resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.

5. Refunds

Upon receipt and inspection of the returned goods, we will process your refund within 14 days. Refunds will be issued using the same payment method used for the original transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise.

We may withhold the refund until we have received the returned goods or until you have provided evidence of having returned the goods, whichever occurs first.

6. Exceptions to the Right of Return

The following items are exempt from the standard 14-day right of return under EU consumer law:

  • Items that have been clearly used or assembled beyond initial inspection.
  • Items that have been damaged due to customer misuse or negligence.
  • Items returned without their original packaging where the packaging forms part of the product value.
  • Bespoke or made-to-specification items produced to a customer's explicit requirements, where the customer has been informed of this exemption before purchase and has expressly acknowledged it.

Where a made-to-order exemption applies, this will be clearly communicated before you complete your purchase, and your acknowledgement will be obtained where required.

7. Faulty or Damaged Goods

If you receive goods that are faulty, damaged in transit or materially different from their description, you are entitled to a refund, replacement or repair in accordance with your statutory rights. Return shipping costs will be covered by The Lean Company in such cases.

If your order arrives damaged, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible and, where possible, provide photographs of the damage or defect to help us resolve the issue promptly.

8. Business-to-Business (B2B) Orders

Where goods are purchased by a business acting in a commercial capacity rather than as a consumer, the statutory 14-day right of return under EU consumer law does not automatically apply. Returns for business orders are handled at the discretion of The Lean Company and subject to agreement before return.
